Credit Freezes
A credit freeze locks down your credit report. In doing so, any application that requires a credit check, such as applying for a credit card, loan, or mortgage can not be completed unless you temporarily lift the freeze. To be effective, credit freezes should be set up through all three major credit reporting agencies (Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion).
